One thought on “Managing growth to ease school crowding

Your article is correct and those of us living along the US1 corridor (Elkridge/Hanover, Jessup, Savage Mill) have had children in overcrowded classrooms for many years. We have complained for many years and we have been ignored for many years. Now the school system wants to redistrict schools AGAIN, instead of doing the right thing, which is to build a new high school in our over crowded area. These areas of Howard County have been ignored for far too long and have been denied adequate facilities….the new schools that have been built are modifications to standards because the school system did not do an adequate job of purchasing land for future school use and the county let the developers call the shots on new housing developments. It’s a sad situation for ALL of our children.
