This is Dr. Chao Wu. I am a scientist, engineer, programmer, analyst and community activist.
Now I am a 2018 Howard County Board of Education Candidate.
The website is under construction. It will be upgraded soon.
I graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD) with a PhD degree. And I received my master degree from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and my bachelor degree from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), Hefei, China. Both degrees are also with engineering discipline. Nevertheless, I do love literature and writing a lot.
I was elected to the Council Representative and Board of Director of Columbia Association (http://wwww.columbiaassociation.com) in May 2015 for the term 2015-2017. This is not a paid position, but a volunteer position. Columbia Association serves a planned community with 100,000 residents and more than 1,000 businesses. It has around $70 millions yearly budget. I am the chairperson for the Planning and Strategy Committee and a member of the Board Operation Committee and Audit Committee. CA board meetings usually take place at the first and third Thursday night, 7:30PM-11:00PM at CA Board Room, 6310 Hillside Court, Columbia 21046. Board of Directors can be reached by email Board.Members@columbiaAssociation.org.
I am also a board member on the River Hill Home Owner Association (http://www.villageofriverhill.org/).
I am also a founding board member of Chinese American Parent Association of Howard County (http://www.capa-hc.org), which focuses on “inform, involve, empower” on public education and community engagement.
I strongly believe in a data-driven decision making process and will consistently share data with my readers.
I would like to share my experience of living at Columbia, Maryland. I would love to hear your feedback at chaowu2016 AT gmail.com. Or you can leave your comments on the blog.
