Find your state legislative district. Who Are Your Elected Officials? (arcgis.com) Only students living my district ( Maryland Legislative District 9A) are qualified to apply. Otherwise, please apply for your own district delegate/senator’s scholarship.
Application will open on Feb 15 and close on April 15 every year. Late submission will not be accepted. Applicants will be notified as soon as the application status is available.
Eligibility
- A recipient shall be enrolled in:
- (1) A regular undergraduate, graduate, or professional program at an eligible institution;
- (2) An associate’s degree program; or
- (3) A certificate program in which the course work is acceptable for transfer credit to an accredited baccalaureate program at an eligible institution.
- A recipient shall attend an eligible institution for the number of credit hours for which the award was made.
- Full-time enrollment is defined as 12 credit hours per semester for undergraduate students and 9 credit hours per semester for graduate students.
- Part-time enrollment is defined as 6 to 11 credits per semester for undergraduate students and 6 to 8 hours for graduate students.
- A recipient shall be enrolled at least part-time.
The Maryland Delegate Scholarship is offered to Maryland residents who plan to pursue a postsecondary credential full-time (12+ credits undergraduate or 9+ credits graduate per semester) or part-time (6-11 credits undergraduate or 6-8 credits graduate per semester) at a two-year or four-year Maryland college, university or private career school. application will be accepted after the deadline.

scholarship. Please check with your own district delegates/senator.
Have you filed FAFSA for 2026-2027? If yes, please proceed with application. If no, please file FAFSA first.

A copy of SAT/ACT (if they are not indicated on your transcript) for applicant who is entering college in 2026 fall semester ( File Name format – First Name Last Name SAT etc).
A copy of your letter of acceptance (if you will be an incoming freshman in the fall) ( File Name format – First Name Last Name Letter of Acceptance)
Essay that describes the following in 600-800 words ( First Name Last Name Delegate Wu Legislative Scholarship Essay):
- Reasons for applying for scholarship and how it will impact the applicant’s opportunity to attend college.
- Experience of demonstrating leadership skills or qualities and impact on self or others.
- Experience of demonstrating personal responsibility or community service and impact on self or others.
- Future goals and why they are important.
