Updated HCPSS FY 2023-2032 Long Range Master Capital Plan

We will have three capital projects finished in FY 2023(Talbott Springs ES, HS 13 (Jessup High School), Hammond HS renovation).

Then we will have Dunloggin MS, new ES 43, Oakland Mills MS and Oakland Mills HS, Centennial HS in the pipelines. After that, we will have ES44, HS 14, Patapsco MS and Jeffers Hill ES.

What we need to do now is to ask the County to fund these projects. For all the projects, we need the county to commit the funding, then the state matching funding will come it.

(19) 2020 Interview with Caio Goolsby, Centennial High School, UMCP

Mr. Caio Goolsby graduated from Centennial High School in 2020. He will join University of Maryland, College Park, majoring International Relations and Economics.

In this interview, Caio shared the online learning challenge due to covid-19. He also talked about “staying healthy” as a priority while juggling many tasks. Learning to say no is something extremely important.

He was a teacher aiding to help some teachers in high school, which greatly impacted him. He shared that he was bullied in middle school unfortunately and he overcame that.

He joined the “It’s Academic” team in Centennial High, which he enjoyed so much and the team was ranked 7th in the nation in 2018 . Another club is Model United Nations, where he was president for two years. There are more to learn about Caio.

In this interview, Judy shared about her high school experience on political campaign, community service, launching her seminar to educate the community on US government, the secret to build a good relationship with counselor, the need for HCPSS to have a diverse and inclusive curriculum.
