How to testify, do virtual/in-person/written testimony at Maryland General Assembly

  1. Go to https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/
  2. Click on the MyMGA button on the top right banner.
  3. Create an account or log in
  4. Scroll to the bottom to find the committee where the bills will be heard/ House or Senate
  5. Find the bill
  6. Add your name or organization in the first box.
  7. Select “Favorable”/Unforable/Informational in the Position drop-down
  8. Select “Written”/”Oral”, in person or virtual in the Testimony drop-down
  9. Upload your testimony as a PDF file.

2024 Maryland General Assembly Legislative Fellow Application starts

Maryland General Assembly (MGA) – Department of Legislative Services(DLS) is now accepting applications for the 2024 Class of Legislative (Graduate) Fellows.

  • The Fellows Program is specifically designed for graduate students at Maryland and regional institutions offering master’s degrees in public policy as well as law students.
  • Graduate students with a demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in legislative / public policy work should consider the legislative fellowship. Applicants must have strong writing and analytical skills and a G.P.A. of 3.0 or higher. A graduate in good standing from the schools specified above may apply during the application period.
  • In addition, graduate students may apply if in a related course of study or pursuing a major relevant to public policy including but not limited to economics, environmental studies, education, public health and various other quantitative, policy or legal studies.
